This is my beloved in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
Greetings for mid January already!
As we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord on Sunday, we close out the Christmas season. The church looks so bare without the beautiful decorations we had. Many visitors from many states complimented us and loved joining our parish celebrations. Again, my thanks to all who decorated and made it possible.
The Baptism of the Lord is a feast that raises a question. Why did Jesus need to be Baptized if he was without original sin? Well, by his being baptized he made available a source of salvation for all of us. He made holy the waters of Baptism for us. He also allowed us to be baptized by water and the Holy Spirit. “unless you are born again and baptized by water and the Holy Spirit (fire) you shall not enter the Kingdom of heaven." The feast is also important because OF THE REVELATION OF THE Holy Trinity: Father (voice), Son (savior), Holy Spirit (dove).
Sunday Jan 25th Laughter and Tears Concert by Kearsage Orchestra will be held at OLF at 3 PM.
Please continue to keep Mary Thayer in your prayers.
