Greetings from Spencer, MA. 

Summer is over and the kids are back at School. I am at the Trappist Monastery of St. Joseph Abbey, which sits on 400 acres of pristine and holy ground. They are celebrating their 200 year Anniversary.

My thanks to Fr. Ed Broom for celebrating Holy Mass this last week while I was away. We have a lot of upcoming events of note:

Pastoral Council meets Monday September 8th at 6:30 PM in the Parish Library.
Our Parish Picnic is Sunday the 14th in OLF Hall.

Our hearts go out to the families and victims of the recent shooting at a Catholic School in Minnesota. On Monday September 15th in OLF Hall we will have another Safety Evacuation Meeting for all parishioners and teachers of Faith Formation. As the young 10 year old boy said in the news: “We practiced this in the school, but not the Church!” All are strongly encouraged to attend. If you attended the other two meetings you need not come again.

Finally, we are expecting the new air conditioning/heating system to be installed. Their will be some staging and scaffolding in the Church the week of September 20th. Pardon our appearance during construction.
