This week’s Gospel challenges us with his words, which Jesus says he has come for division not peace. It is shocking! What might Jesus mean, when do we defend Gospel principles in society? Well, recently the pope said that the Church must help reform society, not be like it. How have Christian values formed our Country, its laws, courts, social and civil respect of others?
There will not be Mass celebrated for the Assumption of Mary due to a couple of medical procedures which call him away. Deacon Greg WILL do a Liturgy of the Word and Holy Communion on Friday morning at 8:30 AM.
Fr. Don will be taking a week vacation, followed by his Trappist retreat. Weekday Masses will be suspended August 24 – Sept 5.
Loaves and Fishes will have a special collection August 30 & 31st. Please plan accordingly.
Tom Coverdale has assembled a weeding crew, called the “Deadheads”! My thanks to all the volunteers.
“This and That” will be held at IC Sept. 20th 9-Noon. Please drop off clothing and kitchen items, but NO appliances please.
