"All battles are first won or lost, in the mind."
Saint Joan of Arc
Greetings from Steubenville!
You are all in my prayers each day. Things are going well and we are enjoying the conference by Fr. John Ricardo. My Tuesday prayer group has been watching his video series as preparation for this week. He has an App series called Made for Mission, "ACTS XXIX". It suggests the final chapter of Acts of Apostles XXIX is being written now by our generation.
The dire worldly statistics don't need to be repeated, the world is devoid of HOPE. The first Great Depression was "financial" in the 1930's. "Today's Great Depression" is not financial, but "emotional". Kids are isolated and lonely despite all they have. 4% of the world population devours 96% of opioids. Suicide and depression are rampant. Marriages, relationships and friendships are not enduring.
The recent uptick in religion we see, is a result of those who desire purpose and meaning in their lives. The world has failed them. We do not need more talks or quick fixes, but rather unshakable belief that Jesus is Lord of all.
The weather has been challenging here and there in New England. See you soon!
God Bless you,
Fr. Don
