“Do not be surprised, beloved, that a trial by fire is occurring in our midst. It is a test for you, but it should not catch you off guard, Rejoice instead.”
1 Peter 4:12
Easter Greetings! The Lord is risen, He has truly risen!
Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday. A Holy Hour will be held from 3-4 PM to pray for God’s mercy upon the whole world.
We thank everyone for their generosity during the Easter Season. It was nice to see our Masses full with parishioners, family members and faith seekers! It reminds us of our full numbers and potential of our parish when all participate.
The annual Convocation of the Bishop and his priests is coming up on May 5-7. Priests will celebrate their Anniversaries to Priesthood and recognize those jubilarians’ with Silver and Golden anniversaries. There will be NO daily Masses celebrated on Monday – Wednesday that week.
I have also made travel plans for annual Charismatic Priest Conference in Steubenville, Ohio, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Again, while away there will be no daily Masses from Monday June 23rd - Friday June 27th here at OLF. However, St. Patrick’s Newport will be having their usual Masses.
First Holy Communion and Confirmation will be held here at OLF May 13th, @ 6PM; also the feast of Our Lady of Fatima! Bishop Libasci will preside.
Eternal Rest grant unto Pope Francis O Lord, and may your perpetual light shine upon Him.
