“You do not love in your enemies what they are, but what you would have them become.” – St. Augustine
Dear Folks:
As we experience the change in seasons in New England, nature speaks to us about the need for change if we are going to grow. With the colors of Autumn, the color of the leaves does not express the height of life but rather the process of dying. Come Spring, there will be new life after Winter’s death. Spiritually, we also die to old ways as we experience age and growing. We let go of childish ways and become adults. So too after we die to our Earthly life, death is not the end but rather New Life of the Eternal God welcomes us to a real Easter Spring.
- I am pleased with the growth in the parish numbers again. As programs increase there should be new opportunities for people to encounter Jesus in our midst. We have some folks who are expressing a desire to join the Catholic Faith! We also have a greater number of families responding to our new Faith Formation program. Workshops, Reflection nights for adults, Day of prayer, concerts, and a parish mission are all opportunities to grow together in our Faith community. Give praise to God for all he has done.
- From time to time we experience some staff changes. Sometimes pastors, clerks, teachers or parishioners come and go. We wish to express our appreciation to Barb Teach who has been our Finance Bookkeeper. She has done a wonderful job and now has some family demands that will take her away from us here on staff. We also welcome David Grinnell of Immaculate Conception to our Finance Board. In addition David has offered to consider Barb’s position until we come up with a permanent solution. Finally, I am interviewing Amy Cheevers for the Faith Formation Coordinator position. She is a member of the Sacred Heart Lebanon parish and has had previous Faith Formation positions in their parish. Our part-time position is very attractive to her at this stage in her life. She is well acquainted with our email program, Flocknote, Facebook and our webpage. She will therefore help Dottie Connelly to transition to her retirement after being a superb media coordinator for our Parish. Thanks to everyone for their service to our community.
God Bless. Father Donald
